Anime vs. Manga: What the Adaptation Covers
The adaptation draws from a manga of nine-plus volumes, giving the anime substantial source material. Understanding where the anime sits relative to the manga helps viewers decide whether to read ahead.
| Aspect | Manga | Anime |
|---|---|---|
| Format | MangaONE Comics volumes | Weekly TV series from Oct 9, 2026 |
| Language | Japanese (VIZ publishes English) | Japanese audio, international streaming |
| Scope | Full story through latest volumes | Early arcs, pacing TBD by episode count |
| Extras | Volume bonuses, covers | PVs, key visuals, music releases |
The core arc the anime will adapt begins with Satoko's sheltered life and first encounter with Shinpei, develops into the contract marriage, and deepens into a relationship tested by the assassin underworld — the emotional throughline that made the manga popular.
If the weekly wait feels long, the VIZ English series page and Shogakukan's e-Comic Store offer the official manga in English and Japanese respectively.
